Tim Hortons GWN Dragon Boat Challenge

06 September, 2025

It's our final festival of the 2025 season!

From the GWN site: Marking the end of the season for many, the Tim Hortons GWN Dragon Boat Challenge is a premier event that lets crews finish the year with a bang—two exhilarating days of racing in the heart of downtown Toronto. With over 25 years of tradition, this flagship festival is the crown jewel of the MLDB series and a highlight of the racing calendar, attracting teams from across Canada and the United States. We’re proud to announce that the Tim Hortons GWN Dragon Boat Challenge is an official DBC Race Series Event, further cementing its reputation as a must-attend competition.

The event takes place on the Western Beaches Watercourse at Marilyn Bell Park, a landmark venue in downtown Toronto. This location has played host to several elite international and national competitions, including the 2006 IDBF World Club Crew Championships, the 2008 Dragon Boat Canada National Championships, and the 2011 ICF Club Crew Dragon Boat World Championships.

The Tim Hortons GWN Dragon Boat Challenge is also proud to host the Breast Cancer / All Cancer Paddler Village, a featured area dedicated to BCP and ACP crews, their families, and supporters. This special village honours the strength, resilience, and unity of those who paddle with purpose.

The festival grounds offer a wide range of activities for both participants and spectators. Families can enjoy hands-on fun in the Kids Zone, while the Main Stage will keep the energy high with live music and entertainment throughout the weekend. The Health and Wellness Zone features vendors offering products and services to support a healthy lifestyle. And when it’s time to unwind, the Beer Garden—located right at the finish line and beside the main entertainment area—will be the perfect spot to celebrate.

Race hard and celebrate harder at this exciting season finale that brings together teams from all corners of the dragon boat community. See you a
